As an instructor it is always an honor knowing students
value what they are learning.
Painting with Candace has become a weekly source of joy for me. She is a rare combination of being proficient in the theoretical aspect of painting, as well as being intuitive in her ability to guide her students.
My ability to paint and understand my own process as a person has evolved and expanded under her stewardship. I cannot recommend Candace enough!

I really like the painting class. She has taught me the importance of values, light and shadows and compliments. It's really relaxing being in this class because it feels like I can take a break from the world and paint. I've learned the many styles of using a brush and making fur-like strokes. The class is really relaxing and the class is a nice way to destress. When I start a new painting I always learn new brush movements and color mixing strategies.

Candace Troy's Wednesday afternoon art class is a highlight of my week. In her uniquely supportive and challenging program, Im learning by doing a series of meaningful projects. Candace grounds students in fundamentals, teaching us to crawl before we walk. But if I come to her with an ambitious idea, she'll run with it.
